Cloud technology has been around for many years and has become an integrated part of almost all businesses these days. But what is the future of cloud? Many experts have started talking about moving toward a more hybrid environment due to the reluctance of many businesses to move their legacy environments to the cloud. This is a novel idea as many legacy systems are not so-called cloud-ready, although I would argue this point. But, hybrid has been around for many years, and it feels like the conversation is just going around in circles.

 Cloud, as it is now, will continue to evolve and expand even further, with the addition of corporate mobile applications that will dominate how corporate users interact with systems

Cloud, as it is now, will continue to evolve and expand even further, with the addition of corporate mobile applications that will dominate how corporate users interact with systems. When you look at the progression of the smartphone over that last couple of years and the technology and development that has gone into it, it is fairly obvious that smartphone is the way of the future. Corporate users expect the same level of comfort interacting with their systems at their place of work as they would with any other consumer application they have downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. This behavior will drive the need for corporates to change the way they deliver solutions to their users. With technology where it is today, there is no need for any organization not to be able to provide this. If you just think of how easy the financial institutions have made it for their customers to interact with them via their mobile platforms to an extent that you do not even have to go into a branch anymore to do your banking and truth be told, it is irritating if you have to go. This is just one example of how the consumer market has changed the way we do business. Those same consumers are working in environments where they feel frustrated with the way their organization is delivering applications and the way in which they consume it.

Embracing Mobile

The mobile consumer market is here, and it is not going anywhere, and businesses need to embrace that. Start delivering portions of your corporate solutions to mobile devices and make it easier for your users to interact with your corporate systems. Using the processing power on the mobile device for users to make quicker decisions is what will drive success in business, and we have already started seeing it with IoT. It is necessary to start embracing a more modern workplace environment because if you are not, then your business will be left behind in the modern technology age.
